Spontaneous Sayings Sans Sanity #8 mh 6/21/98 "i don’t see why i should even care" the wise man shouts from streets of rusted gold like some crippled cockroach without an underbelly; beyond his gates women weep for the loss of their funs to the war of boredom, while our friend the old blind man with no teeth whittles a stick into a toothpick; inside, the wise man scratches his woolly goatee wondering what to make out of minced meat and stale hot dog buns while 747’s carrying men to business trips- perhaps to market a new bun recipe, fly overhead in silent sonic booms; "i’m beginning to hear voices" the wise man tells himself out- loud and then responds with a silent, "yeppers, i sure am." at gradual school they had taught him he was his own id entity, which means he has desires and needs like everyone else, thus losing his identity to a single space and misplaced thought between the "d" and "e"; outside the gates, beyond the wise man’s mumblings of psychology, little children run free, most knowing that "d" comes before "e" except after "b", which is around 8:00 PM for most of them.
